Design Wall Monday 4/9/2012

I have been really busy for the last couple of weeks but I am hoping that even with all the chaos going on I can get back to blogging.

I finished the following 2 samples for the store,  luckily they didn't take very long. I also finished my 10 Dear Jane blocks for the month and a couple of Sylvia's Bridal Sampler blocks as well.  I even finished a schnibble top which will hopefully be a class starting in July.

I made this one up in an afternoon.  Picture is not that good..I really need to get better at it.  I think I it is called Sugar Blossoms but I don't remember.

This one is made with Hello Luscious fabrics and that is the pattern name as well.  This one uses a jelly roll and some yardage.  It was really easy to go together. I love all things Basic Grey so that was why I was given this sample.

Here is another picture.  It was too big to hang on the clothes line to I had to wrap it a little bit and then of course the wind picked up.

Don't you just love the dirt area underneath the clothes line.  That area is on our project list for this summer we have a bunch of paver like things we are going to put under there once we clear it out and get the paver sand. I have this area, re-landscaping the front yard and the youngest wants a garden so that will be on my list for the next month.  The ironic thing is I absolutely detest working in the yard.  I hate getting my hands dirty and yes I admit I am lazy.  But we had a garden growing up so I want him to experience as well and he brought up the idea, and is way stoked.

Design Wall Monday 3/12/12

I was actually able to accomplish a few things last week. This week will probably different.

I finished two tops which was kind of nice. I then spent all day Sunday working on DJ..doesn't seem like I accomplished mush yesterday but I worked on 5 blocks, 2 of them I finished completely and 3 of them are ready for applique. I am hoping between today and tomorrow to finish the other 5 and then I will be ahead for next month.

Box Step - I have had this one cut out for quit awhile and finally decided to use it as leaders and enders. It is now done and onto the flimsie pile.

TV Dinner..this one is for Charm School in April. I teach both Charm School and Strip Club next month. I will then be done for a couple of months...I'm hoping anyway.

I have so many flimsies that need to be quilted.  I really need to take some time from sewing and learn how to use my machine. Maybe I will try to do that the end of this month when I have almost the whole week off.

For other design wall's head on over to Judy's.

Here is to everyone having a wonderful Monday...hope the time change didn't mess too many of you up.

Another flimsie

I started this top sometime in Sept. or Oct last year. It was put on the back burner over the holidays.  I only had the rows left to put together.  So that was my major accomplishment this week. This will be our Strip Club at the store in April, so luckily I have some time to figure out how I want to quilt it.

I also pulled all of my 2 1/2 strips from a swap last year and sorted and cut them for my next QOV.  I was planning on working on that a little bit this week but with the hubby gone it was kinda crazy.  I ended up spending the nights working on a crochet project and trying to finish my first knitting project.

I ended up using all precut strips out of my drawers except for the WOW.  I had to cut into some yardage. I probably ended up using about 1/3 of a yard but it is all cut and ready to be worked on as leaders and enders between my Dear Jane blocks.

I won't get any sewing done this weekend since it is the Anniversary on Saturday.  I will be gone all weekend so I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Design Wall Monday 2/6/2012

I still have DJ on the design wall. I think I am going to resign myself to the fact that my design wall will be whatever empty area I can use.

Yesterday before Super Bowl I decided to finish up my Happily Ever After sample for work.  I started this on Dec 13 but I had a billion other things to do so this was pushed aside.  I have a lot of things I want to start but I told myself I needed to finish some of these other projects first.  I knew I would feel better if I did.

I am hoping this week to get this one quilted and bound and off to work to hang on the wall. I also have another top ready to quilt but I will talk about that in another post.

It was hard to get a really good picture of these without taking them downstairs and I didn't want to deal with the cat, the dog, and the piggies. I figure a better picture can be given after it is totally done.

For more design wall pictures head on over to Patchwork Times.

I am off to sew a little bit more if possible, this will be a short sewing week since I will be out of town next weekend.
